Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - National Institute of Laser Enhanced Science - Department of Laser Application in Medical and Biological Summary: Nowadays, osteoarthritis of the Knee Joint is the most common disease in the elderly, and it is associated with significant physical disability. The efficiency of ultrasound and low level laser therapy (LLLT), in the treatment of alleviation of pain and Knee disability, is the most important study to assessment its value in therapy. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of low level Laser versus Ultrasound therapy, in the treatment of the knee joint osteoarthritis, and comparing between the both modalities of therapy. This study was conducted on 30 (OA) patients, 17 females and 13 males, their ages ranged from 35 - 62. The patients were divided into 2 group, each group 15 patients. The first group received US and exercises programmed. The other group received Laser 830 nm and exercises programmed. There was a statistical significance difference, between pre treatment and post treatment, related for improvement in pain intensity, range of motion, and activity daily life, in the first group that treated by US therapy. At p value = 0.0001. There was a statistical significance difference, between pre-treatment and post treatment, related for improvement in pain intensity, range of motion, and activity daily life, in the second group that treated by 830 diode laser therapy. At p value = 0.0001. In comparison between the two groups, there wasn{u2019}t a significance difference related to pain intensity, range of motions, and activity daily life. There was a statistical significance difference, in group laser related to the time of treatment, show that patients received treatment after midi was better than patients received treatment pre midi, related to ROM and activity daily life, may be due to the improvement in the circulation after half day, but in US there was no difference related to time. The Hypothesis of that there is no significant difference between both types of therapy. The finding of this study accept the hypothesis
