Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics Summary: To study the clinical, laboratory and ultrasound findings of polycystic ovarian syndrome and their relations to metabolic syndrome. 100 patienst were collected from KASR ALAINI, HOSPITAL And ALHARAM HOSPITAL from (December 2014 June 2015), diagnosed initially as polycystic ovarian syndrome. For every patient full history, examination (body mass Index, abdominal circumference, blood Pressure), labs (follicle stimulating hormone, lutenizing hormone, total testesterone, triglycerides, high density lipoprotien, fasting blood glucose) Were done. We found that the incidence of hypertension, body mass Index, abdominal circumference, fasting Blood Glucose, Triglycerides was significantly higher in obese polycystic ovarian syndrome than in non obese polycystic ovarian syndrome. The metabolic syndrome was evident in obese polycystic ovarian syndrome
