Aim: To compare Alphakite and Revo S rotary NiTi systems regarding their shaping abilities. Materials and Methods: A total of 40 mesiobuccal root canals of extracted permanent mandibular molars were used. Those had curvature angles ranging between 25 and 40 degrees, and radii between 4 and 8mm. They were divided into 2 equal groups according to the instrument used during preparation, whether Revo S or Alphakite systems. Shaping ability was evaluated by assessing the degree of straightening and the degree of transportation of the canals as well as the centering ratio of the instruments. Results: The results showed that Alphakite system remained more centered in the canal and showed less straightening and transportation than did the Revo S system, with statistically significant differences. Conclusion: Under the conditions of this study, Alphakite system was superior to Revo S system regarding the shaping ability of severely curved root canals
