Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anatomy Summary: Light microscopic examination of the prepubertal stressed rats revealed different pathological changes including areas of nuclear degeneration, emergence of compact cells and congestion of the blood capillaries, in addition to areas of thickened collagen bundles and disrupted collagen arrangement. The Ki67 immunohistochemistry detected multiple scattered immunoreactive nuclei in the adrenal cortex of this group. Electron microscopic changes in this group were represented by widening of intercellular spaces, the presence of nuclei with prominent nuclei and irregular lipid droplets with electron dense or heterogenous structure
