Diagnosis of HCC at early stages is crucial for potentially curative therapies. Mitochondrial (mt) DNA deletions and low folate status proposed characteristics of carcinogenesis. This study aims to evaluate folate related lymphocytic mt DNA deletions for early diagnosis of hepatocellular carcinoma. We also explored the relation between folate related lymphocytic mt DNA deletions and the clinic pathological features of HCC patients as well as its prognostic value
