Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anaesthesia Summary: Wound infiltration by local anesthetic has become increasingly common for postoperative analgesia. In patients who undergo operations for lumber disc hernias the management of postoperative pain plays an important role in neurological recovery. Results of this study showed that wound infiltration with ( Levobupivacaine \ Tramadol) compination is more effective (no need for postoperative opioid and lower VAS scores) with lower side effects and better post operative pain relief than other groups where Tramadol or Levobupivacaine were administered alone
