Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) data have been used for delineating and mapping the area of branch_1 , Toshki area South Western part of EgyptThe studied area covers about 120 , 000 fedTwenty three soil profiles and seventeen minipits were examined to represent the soils of the studied areaThe soils of the studied area are classified as Typic Haplocalcids , Typic Haplosalids and Typic rriorthentsThe soils are slightly to extremely saline (EC values range from 11 to 734 dS / m) Soil texture is mostly sandy to sandy clay loamSoil pH values range from 73 to 85Organic matter content is very low with a maximum value of 05in hundred Calcium carbonate content ranges between 06 and 159in hundred and gypsum content ranges from 02 to 131in hundredAvailable nitrogen , phosphorus
