Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Electrical Power and Machines Summary: A detailed model of the whole system has been modeled using the Matlab / Simulink simulation Tools. A perturb and observe algorithm is introduced to track the maximum power point. This method is compared with fuzzy logic maximum power point tracking. The simulation results show that the fuzzy logic algorithm is better and faster than the perturb and observe algorithm. Also a battery bank Charging/Discharging controller is introduced to protect the battery bank from overcharging and deep discharging problems.A BLDC-pump control unit used to makes the pump rotates at its nominal speed. An experimental study on a lab scale is executed to verify some of the simulation results of the proposed standalone PV pumping system
