Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Nursing - Department of Psychiatric Nursing Summary: Work related stresses experienced by psychiatric nurses are unusually and especially high.Psychiatric nurses had highest rate work-related stress that involves dealing with patient suffering from severe mental disorders and aggressive and violent patient may affect the mental health of nurses and quality of care. The aim of the study is to examine the impact of psychosocial risks and work-related stress on mental well-being of psychiatric nurses{u2019}. The study is descriptive correlation design. Convenience sample consisted of 80 psychiatric nurses{u2019} were selected from Al-Abbassia Mental Health Hospital. Tools for data collection were as following; socio-demographic data sheet, - the nursing stress scale, Well{u2013}being assessment tool. Result revealed that, negative correlation between work related stress and mental well-being.the study concluded that work-related stress play an important role and affected mental well-being of psychiatric nurses{u2019}. The study recommended that regular stress management program which includes effective coping styles should be introduced in the workplace to minimize the problem and improving psychosocial work environment leading to work stress
