Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Orthopedic Surgery Summary: Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate clinical and radiographic outcomes following medial patello-femoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction using partial thickness of the quadriceps tendon graft distally based to the patella for recurrent patellar instability. Methods: Twenty five patients (25 knees) were enrolled in this study. The mean age was 19.36 ±7.16, and the median follow- up was 12 months. Reconstruction was performed using a partial thickness of the quadriceps tendon graft. No patient had undergone additional medial tibial tuberosity transfer. Clinical scores (Lysholm) and apprehension test were completed preoperatively and at the follow-up. Results: The preoperative Lysholm scores were 48 with standard deviation 11, and at 6 months follow-up visits the corresponding values were 93 with standard deviation 13. The apprehension test was positive in all patients preoperatively, and all patients were negative at follow up All radiographic assessments were significantly improved
