Flubendazole and Fenbendazole are well known benzimidazole carbamate drugs used in the treatment and prevention of several endoparasitic diseases in animals and humans. This work has been carried out to investigate the coordinating behavior of flubendazole and fenbendazole drugs towards some transition metal ions aiming to enhance their biological activity. The Pd (II) and Cu (II) complexes of Flubendazole with different anions have been synthesized and tested for their antibacterial and anticancer activities. Co (II), Ni (II) and Cu (II) complexes of fenbendazole have also been prepared and evaluated for their antibacterial activity. The complexes were characterized by elemental, IR, 1H-NMR, EPR, UV-Vis., magnetic, conductance measurements and thermal analyses. Geometry optimization, molecular electrostatic potential maps and natural bond orbital analysis were carried out using density functional theory. The biological activity is affected by the type of the coordinated or ionic anion
