Giardia intestinalis and Cryptosporidium parvum are two protozoan intestinal parasite that can cause diarrhea in children. The present work was carried out on a total 96 cases, 62 of them presenting with gastrointestinal tract (GIT) symptoms as (abdominal pain, diarrhea, abdominal distention), 11 cases who were free from gastrointestinal tract (GIT) symptoms and 23 cases who were suffering from debilitating disease. All fecal samples were examined using the direct wet smear and formol ether concentration techniques, modified ziehl neelsen (MZN) staining. Among 96 cases, 59 were positive for giardia lamblia, 27 were positive for cryptosporidium parvum,3cases were positive for giardia from asymptomatic group. Rapid immunochromatographic assay (ICT) and enzyme linked immune sorbent assay (ELISA) were used to detect Giardia&Cryptosporidium antigens in all fecal samples and results were compared to results of microscopic examination. Sensitivity of rapid immunochromatogrophic test was 98.3%, while sensitivity of ELISA was found to be 96.6%
