Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Mechanical Power Engineering Summary: Aircraft designers are performing research to improve the overall aircraft efficiency which would be useful both for aircraft manufacturer and airlines. A winglet is a system used to enhance the effectiveness of air plane by increasing lift {u2013}to- drag ratio (L/D).The target of this investigation is compare the aerodynamic characteristics of the wing with and without winglet. For the this study, thesis considered raked winglet with four angles and considered the optimum angle to study the effect of taper ratios and then study blended winglet at four angles, and considered the optimum angle to study the effect of taper ratios, study the effect of length of winglet and Mach number ,using CFD simulation performs by FLUENT ®
