Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Operative Dentistry Summary: This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of pre- and post bleaching using 3 different in-office bleaching systems on the color change of resin infiltrated enamel lesions compared to sound bleached enamel. A total of 30 bovine incisors were used in this study. Teeth were divided into 3 groups (10 each) according to the utilized bleaching techniques (T - laser 1 activated, T - chemically activated and T - light activated. Three standardized 2 3 windows A, B and C (5mm x 7mm) were created on the labial surface of each tooth, one of which (window A) served as sound enamel (control). The other two windows were subjected to demineralization by immersion in demineralizing solution at pH 4.5 for 72 hours at 37{u00B0}C. Following that, Icon® resin infiltrant was applied to window C. Baseline window preparation was followed by in-office bleaching to the 3 windows using the 3 different systems. Laser-activated bleaching using laser White{u2122}20 bleaching system and Epic{u2122}10 diode Laser device, chemically-activated bleaching using Dash in-office whitening system and light activated bleaching using philips zoom whitening gel Following bleaching, Icon® resin infiltration was then applied to the demineralized bleached window to represent the pre-bleached resin infiltrated enamel. Color parameters (L*, a*, b*) and color difference (xE) were measured and calculated using a spectrophotometer after baseline preparation, bleaching and final Icon® application
