Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Orthopedic Surgery Summary: In a prospective study from may 2014 to march 2016, we analyzed 30 patients with distal femur fracture who had been treated by retrograde IM nailing (15 patients) or Locked plating (15 patients). With mean age was 49 years (20-85 years). Mechanism of injury was high energy impact in 66.7%and low-energy injury in 33.3%, respectively. Fractures were classified according to AO classification: there were 17 type A fractures and 13 type C 1 fractures. Functional and radiological outcome was assessed
