In the current study, 48% of the patients had elevated ALT and AST also we found higher serum ferritin levels in responders than non responders. Using gender matched controls, we demonstrated that hepcidin concentrations are higher inresponders than non responders. In the current study, Serum hepcidin levels were correlated with serum ferritin levels, infected patients
