The present study was undertaken to extract chitosan (CH) from shrimp shells, the chimecal composition of CH extracted is: total nitrogen content 6.1, crude fiber 95, ash 1.1, T.lipid 0.2 and moisture 3.4 g/100g dry weight basis. To evaluate CH effect as a healthy effect on the rats 110±30g, rats groups (G1 normal, G2 rats treated with semi modified 5% in diet and G3 rats treated with suspension CH ingested by stomach tube) as a pretreatment for 8 weeks. The results showed that a healthy effect of chitosan on rats when taken by suspension chitosan ingesion and modified chitosan (5% in diet). Also, this study evaluates the effect of chitosan in diabetes, hyperlipidemic and diabetic/hyperlipidemic rats in groups (G1 normal rats, G2 diseased rats, G3 rats treated with semi modified 5% in diet treatment, G4.Rats treated with suspension CH ingested treatment by stomach tube and G5 drug) for 8 weeks. The drug in diabetes is diamicron; the drug in hyperlipidemic disease is Fattach guide and used both drugs in diabetic/hyperlipidemic disease. The results declared that using chitosan decrease glucose, AST, ALT, ALP, uric acid, urea, creatinin, triglycerides, T.cholesterol, LDL and vLDL but chitosan increase T. protein, albumin, globulin and HDL. The histopathological examinations show that: Using chitosan marked improvement in histological structure of the heart, liver and kidneys in suspension chitosan ingesion and 5% chitosan in diet of diabetic/hyperlipidemic rats
