Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Medicine - Department Of Neuropsychiatry Summary: Multiple sclerosis is one of the commonest neurological diseases in young ageThis study included 50 patients with definite multiple sclerosis and 20 healthy controlsPatients were evaluated clinically using rating scales : EDSS , FSS , Hamilton depression rating and Neuroradiologically using single voxel proton MR spectroscopy (TR=2000 , TE=35) The NAA / Cr ratio was negatively correlated with EDSSCho / Cr was higher in active casesWe concluded that single voxel proton MR spectroscopy is a valuable tool in diagnosis , prognosis and follow up of treatment in patients with multiple sclerosis
