Two novel Schiff bases of 2,2{u2019}-((1Z,1{u2019}Z)-(1,3-diphenylpropane-1,3- diylidene) bis(azanylylidene))dibenzoic acid (H L1) and 2,2{u2019}-((1Z,1{u2019}Z)-(1,3-2 diphenylpropane-1,3-diylidene) bis(azanylylidene))diphenol (H L2) with 2 their complexes with Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) were prepared and subjected to many analytical techniques such as elemental analyses, mass spectroscopy, ESR, IR, ¹H NMR and solid reflectance spectra, magnetic moment, molar conductance and thermal analyses techniques. The chelates were found to have octahedral geometry except Ni(II)-H₂ L² complex. The biological activity (antimicrobial and 2 antibreastic cancer activity) of the ligands and their complexes were also screened
