Dissertation note: Thesis (PH.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty Of Medicine - Department Of Clinical and Chemical Pathology Summary: We studied the relationship between body iron stores and parameters of diabetic control glucose , insulin , lipid profile and total antioxidants This study was carried out on 120 diabetic patients , 63 males and 57famel and 30 age and sex matched controlsThe total antioxidants were significantly higher in diabetics compared to control group (p<0001) Increased iron concentration in insulin Dependant and Non Insulin Dependant diabetic Patients in Relation to control group There is also a significant positive correlation between iron and Ferreting in diabetic patients in relation to control group
