HCC pathogenesis involes mutations in incogenes or tumor suppre genes and concurrent changes in the tumor microenvironment leading to altered behavior of the malignant call. One of the novel tumor suppessor protiens in cancers is the small leucine-rich proteologlycan, decorin (DCN). DCN is located in extracellular mitrix of the hepatic microenvironment and acts by impeding tumor cells`growth
