Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Institute of Statistical Studies and Research - Department of Statistical Quality Control and Quality Assurance Summary: In any competitive situation regardless if the organization is manufacturing or providing services, business will go to the more efficient provider. Auditing is a tool to inform an organization's management of the efficiency of its processes. When carried out by third parties, it becomes subjective. And if a company is judged as meeting the requirement of a management system such as OHSAS 18001:2007 2occupational Health and safety management system requirement3, a certificate is issued which can be used as a sign of acceptability to customers. It saves an organization from having to prove safety standards to discriminating customers, and currently, it is widely recognized world wide, so speaks an international language. From point of view of third party auditing organizations and auditors, it was noted that the organizations, which apply OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system "OH and SMS" in different industrial and services sector, differ from each other sector, and also inside the same sector, regarding interpretation of OHSAS 18001 Standard requirements. This is because OHSAS 18001 standard is a generic requirements and applicable on all Industries and services. This misunderstanding and differences in interpretation of OHSAS 18001 standard requirement, lead to a large number of Non conformity reports "NCR" raised when such organization apply OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management system is being subjected to a third party audit by certification body. This thesis aims to: provision of comprehensive guidance for organizations tends to be OHSAS 18001:2007 certified with the common Non conformities reports raised against clauses of OHSAS 18001:2007 standard
