Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Radio-diagnosis Summary: In this study the MRI signs are highly polymorphic but can be characterized by the presence of lesions with haemorrhagic content of variable intensity, depending on the production of haemoglobin degradation products and their age, which may appear hyperintense with T1-weighting if recent or reasonably recent. Susceptibility-weighted imaging is a 3D, flow-compensated, radiofrequency spoiled gradient- recalled echo sequence that takes advantage of susceptibility variations between tissues .On susceptibility-weighted MR images, punctate or curved linear signal voids along the cyst wall is observed in endometriomas
