This research involves the parametric study of 2D braced and un-braced reinforced concrete moment resisting frames to study the effect of position, number of bracing and number of bays through inspecting the value of response modification factor which calculating by operating nonlinear static pushover analysis. The results of nonlinear static pushover analysis are presented in One parameter changing based on number of storeys for models which changing in number of storeys are configured for each group of frames as 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, and 13-storey with equal number of bays and One parameter changing based on number of bays for 13 storey models to study the effect of X-bracing position and number of bays, Knowing that the gross moment of inertia was taken into account for all models. Vertical and lateral loads were assigned on all systems based on Egyptian code provisions ECP-201 (2012) and all elements were designed according to ECP-203 (2007). SAP2000 Version 14.2 software program utilized to create both linear static analysis and nonlinear static analysis to perform pushover curve which is idealized to obtain response modification factor of each system. This study involves sixty reinforced concrete braced and unbraced frames which classified the models into three main groups
