Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Organic Chemistry
2-bromo-1-(5-methyl-1-(p-tolyl)-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl) ethanone and 5- acetyl-4-methyl-2-(phenylamino)thiophene-3-carboxylate were used for the synthesis of several heterocyclic compounds as: 1,3,4-thiadiazoles, thiazoles, unsymmetericl azines, triazolo[3,4-a]pyrimidines, coumarines, 1,3,4-selenadi-azoles, [1,3,4] thiadiazolo [3,2-a]quinazolin-5-one, 1,3,4-thiadiazines, 3a,6a- dihydropyrrolo [3,4-c] pyrazolo-4,6(1H,5H)-dione, pyrazoles and pyrazolo[3,4- d]pyridazines. All the newly synthesized compounds were elucidated via elemental analysis, spectral data (IR, 1H NMR and MS) and alternative synthetic routes whenever possible.
