Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Institute of African Research and Studies - Department of Natural Resources Summary: The present investigation was carried out at the ornamental flower farm in Abu Ghaleb village, Giza governorate throughout two successive growing seasons 2013 and 2014 on gladiolus grandifilorus L. and Lilium candidum L. and we found that macrosiphum rosae (Linnaeaus), was the highest population density on the lilium plants and Aphis gossypii (glover) and thrips tabaci (lind.) were the highest population density on the gladiolus plants.yellow paper trap is more effective in aphid catches more than water trape, As a result paper and water traps are not effective in thrips monitor.There were significant corrlation between aphid,thrips population and maximum,minimum tempertare but no s ignificant corrlation with relative humidity. The balanced fertlization under paper yellow tra is the best in aphid control while neem extract(Ashok) is to thrips control
