Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Oral Surgery Summary: This study aimed at evaluating vertical bone gain associated with Inlay bone grafting technique and computer guided ridge reconstruction using titanium mesh in anterior maxillary alveolar ridges.Twelve patients (9 males &3 females) with edentuolous anterior maxillary alveolar ridges with an average age 39 years (range 25-53) were treated in this study. They are divided randomly into two groups each consisted of six patients . where The first group (control group) underwent computer guided vertical ridge reconstruction using titanium mesh and particulate xenograft while the other group (study group) underwent Inlay bone grafting technique using interposional block xenograft fixed with mini-plates . Rdiographic assessment was performed preoperatively, one week and six months postoperatively .Assessment included measurements of linear changes in the vertical height of the anterior alveolar ridge, these measurements were performed on cross sectional cuts of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) using special software .and finally the percentage of vertical gain in each group was compared to that of the other. In this study the mean percentage of the immmmeddiate vertical bone gain in the control group was found to be 44 % while in the study was 47.3 %. The results also showed that the mean percentage of 6 months postoperative vertical bone gain of the control group was 20.7 % and that of the study group was 31.6 %.From the results of the present study it can be concluded that: Computer guided planning used in the control group saved intra operative time and efforts. The final vertical bone gain was statistically significant in each group separately ,so the Inlay bone grafting technique and titanium mesh reconstruction could be used successfully for vertical alveolar ridge augmentation in the aesthetic zone
