Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Pharmacy - Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry Summary: Different methods for determination of some drugs acting on cardiovascular system have been introduced in this thesis. These drugs are Dronedarone hydrochloride, Amiodarone hydrochloride, Perindopril arginine, Amlodipine besylate, Indapamide hemihydrate and Ramipril. The chromatographic part included determination of Dronedarone hydrochloride and Amiodarone hydrochloride in bulk and in dosage form using HPLC and UPLC ultarviolet detection. Also, it involved simultaneous determination of Perindopril arginine, Amlodipine besylate and Indapamide hemihydrate in bulk and two dosage forms. On the other hand, the spectroscopic part, included the spectrophotometric determination of Perindopril arginine and Amlodipine besylate in bulk and dosage form using ratio derivative, derivative subtraction coupled with constant multiplication, P-factor method, amplitude subtraction method and modified amplitude subtraction method. Moreover, the chemometric part included simultaneous determination of Ramipril and Amlodipine besylate in bulk and dosage form, in addition to simultaneous determination of Perindopril arginine and Amlodipine besylate in bulk and dosage form using classical least square analysis (CLS)principal component analysis (PCR) and partial least square analysis (PLS). Furthermore, the artificial neural network (ANN) part included simultaneous determination of Ramipril and Amlodipine besylate in bulk and dosage form, in addition to simultaneous determination of Perindopril arginine and Amlodipine besylate in bulk and dosage form. Statistical comparison between the results obtained by the proposed methods and the reference methods was carried out
