Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is considered as a promising downlink multiple access (MA) scheme for future radio access. (NOMA) has been recently proposed for 3GPP long term evolution (LTE) and envisioned to be an essential component of 5th generation (5G) mobile networks. The key feature of tour proposed model of NOMA is to serve multiple users at the same time/frequency/code, but with different power levels, which yields a significant spectral efficiency gain over conventional orthogonal MA. In this thesis, we will start by providing mathematical modelling for. Also we will study how to improve NOMA performance. MIMO and cooperative transmission will be applied to NOMA. The simulation results showed that NOMA performance using the proposed techniques and techniques achieves superior performance compared to that for orthogonal multiple access (OMA)
