Work-exacerbated common health problems and work-related diseases are under recognized due to the lack of specific diagnostic criteria and lack of studies showing new common health problems and safety measures among bakery workers. The aim of this study was to assess the common health problems and safety measures among workers in traditional bakeries at Giza Governorate. A descriptive correlational design was utilized. A random sample of 300 bakery workers was selected from 45 traditional bakeries of El-Saff city at Giza governorate.Three tools were developed by the investigator: bakers' health assessment questionnaire, bakers' safety measures observational checklist and bakery environment observational checklist. Results showed that, workers were exposed to various common health problems as low back pain (81.0%), common cold (65.7%), difficult hearing (61.3%), productive cough (49.0%) , eye allergy (40.3%), difficult breathing(38.7%) , joint pain (27.0%) and vision difficulty (27.9%). Almost all workers didn't use personal protective equipment's (PPE). As regards bakeries environment, the majority of bakeries didn{u2019}t have dust extraction system, fire extinguishers were not maintained and gas cylinders were nearby ignition sources. As well as, 100 % of observed bakeries have no first aid box. The study concluded that, bakery workers had various health problems related to the nature of their work and the work environment which lack the safety standards. The study recommended organizing training programs to bakery workers on safety and health measures that cover all traditional bakeries, provision of personal protective equipment for bakery workers and enforce the environmental law regulations concerning the health and safety of the working environment
