Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine - Department of Operative Dentistry Summary: Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the effects of etching and adhesive application on the micro-shear bond strength of THREE types of resin composites; conventional packable nano composite, conventional flowable and self-adhesive flowable RC; to evaluate their bond strength with resin-modified glass ionomer base material after different surface treatments. Methods: A total number of 90 specimen were used in this study and divided randomly into three groups according to type of composite used and surface treatment applied the. RMGI discs were prepared using a cylindrical teflon mold. After light cure the teflon mold was removed around discs and placed inside clear acrylic mold, micro-cylinders of composite were constructed on the prepared surfaces using tygon tubes of 1 mm height and 0.7 mm internal diameter and The specimens were left in distilled water for 24 hour prior to the removal of tygon tube the tubes were then carefully cut using a lancet the micro-shear bond strength was determined in a universal testing machine. A Two way-ANOVA used to study the effect of different restorative materials and surface treatment of glass Ionomer on mean microshear bond test oSBS
