Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Radio-diagnosis
Blunt chest trauma is a significant problem affecting mainly young males between 20-40 years and it is usually caused by motor vehicle accidents. Imaging methods are an integral part of the diagnostic algorithm in chest trauma. However, Chest radiograph remains the initial screening modality of trauma patients,Multi-Detector Computed Tomography (MDCT) is the modality of choice for rapid assessment of emergency chest trauma patients, as chest X-ray in these cases has limited sensitivity with missed findings possibly dueto difficulties in obtaining good radiographic views
