Introduction:Lead is used in ammunition industry. It has been associated with several health hazards among exposed workers. Aim:The aim of this work isto obtain some insights of the distribution of e-ALAD polymorphism among lead exposed workers and their effect on some hematological and renal indices. Subjective and methods:This study was conducted on 50 lead exposed workers compared to 50 non-exposed individuals, where full history, clinical examination, and laboratory investigations in the form of: genetic study of e-ALAD gene polymorphism, blood leadlevel, CBC, serum creatinine and urea, U-e-aminolevulinic acid, U-B2-microglobulin were done. Results:Statistically significant (p<0.05) differences were found between exposed and control as regards the prevalence ofhematological, renal, GIT and neurological manifestations. Compared to the control group, urinary B2-microglobulin, urinary e-ALADH, serum urea, serum creatinine and blood lead levelwere significantly higher among exposed workers, while significantlylowerin the mean values of complete blood picture (RBCs, Hb, MCV, MCH, MCHC and PLT)
