Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Computers and Information - Department of Computer Science Summary: Supply chain management (SCM) is dramatically turning to be more and more important for the success and evolution of today{u2019}s business world. Effective supply chain management has become a remarkable and valuable way of securing competitive benefit and improving organizational overall performance since competition is no longer between organizations, but among supply chains (SCs). In SCM, what is required is how to improve and enhance the performance. Supply chains, in order to be more competitive, are adopting new management paradigms. Among these paradigms, there are five that deserve particular mention because of their significance to better SC performance: lean, agile, resilient, green, and talentship (LARGT) paradigms. Performance measurement is crucial and important to better SCM. In addition, to improve the performance of supply chain decisions, agent's technology is slowly becoming the best alternative. But in a multi-agent system (MAS), an agent during making a local optimal decision, it sees how it will affect the other agents and in case required it coordinates with other agents to work out for a new alternative. In such circumstance, MAS with beneficial features like, collaborative, autonomous, coordinate, and intelligence with ability to work in a distributed environment provides a best platform to make SCM performing at its best. In this thesis an extensive literature review was surveyed and an overview on supply chain paradigms (LARGT) and the performance indicators associated with each paradigm to improve supply chain performance was outlined
