Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Architectural Engineering Summary: This thesis proves nanotechnology opens new possibilities in construction sustainability. On one hand, it could lead to a better use of natural resources, obtaining a specific characteristic or property with minor material use. It can (also) help to solve some problems related to energy in building (consumption and generation), or water treatment and air purification. As a result, nanoArchitecture has the ability to meet accepted environmental performance criteria like LEED (Leadership in Energy and environmental design) which offers a definable measure of sustainability and effects of global climate change
