Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - National Institute of Laser Enhanced Sciences - Department of laser Application in Environmental Metrology, photochemistry and Agriculture Summary: The animal protein is an important source of essential amino acids which need in important bio-reactions within human body. The poultry products such as meat or eggs are one of the most important sources of animal protein. Poultry have the advantage of a relatively short production cycle, low cost of poultry meat relative to other meats and the acceptability of chicken meat to all religions. Egypt is one of poor countries which depend on poultry products as essential source of animal protein. This study is concerning to use laser radiation reflection to achieve detection to early embryos of poultry as a step to removes clear eggs (not fertile) which haven{u2019}t embryos before incubation process as a non destructive detection method based on using laser technique and machine vision. Objectives were the following: Determine optical properties of broiler hatching eggs using visible laser technique for early detection to avian embryo, and studying of the variation between the fertile and not fertile of hatching eggs before setting within incubator and around the first period of incubation four days of incubation. This step will supporting the commercial broiler hatcheries to achieve significant economic benefits as increasing of total hatchability, decreasing of commercial broiler hatcheries contamination, decreasing of using disinfectants and finally increasing efficiency of the hatcheries, decreasing to environmental contamination by disinfectants
