Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine- Department of Ophthalmology Summary: Pattern strabismus is multifactorial ,cases without oblique muscle dysfunction can be treated with vertical transposition of horizontal recti In this prospective study we evaluated the magnitude of pattern correction achieved by half and full tendon transposition of horizontal recti and the induced torsional changes Vertical transposition of horizontal recti results in effective pattern collapse in patients with A V pattern without oblique muscle dysfunction despite the induced torsional changes that were detected objectively by changes in the disc foveal angle but no statistically significant change in the axis of astigmatism could be detected 6 months postoperative
