Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: The aim of this study is to study the effect of different types of nano particles on the properties of concrete and to identify the best type. the experimental program of this thesis included three parts: a- three types of nano particles, Nano Silica (NS), Nano Titanium Dioxide (NT) and Nano alumina (NA), b- Steel Fibers with nano particles, c- Hybrid nano particles (NS&NT), (NS&NA) and (NA&NT). In each part, concrete mix were used with different percentages of nano particles 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 2% and 3%. Slump, compressive strength, splitting tensile strength, flexure strength, Initial Surface Absorption Test, sorptivity and Thermo Gravimetric Analysis were applied on the first part. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X ray Spectroscopy were conducted on the optimum samples. Finally workability, compressive strength and splitting tensile strength tests were carried out on the second and third parts
