CFRP has been used to strengthen steel members subject to pure torsion. The thesis presents an experimental program designed and constructed to study the behavior of hollow square steel section strengthened with CFRP sheets under pure torsion. Eight specimens are strengthened using CFRP and one specimen is without strengthening considered as the control specimen. CFRP sheet wrapping includes different con{uFB01}guration such as: strip vertical, strip spiral, full vertical wrapping, full spiral wrapping and reverse-spiral wrapping. The results showed that using CFRP could improve the torsional strength of CFRP strengthened steel beam specimens. The number of layers of CFRP and the strengthening con{uFB01}guration are important factors for the improvement. Based on the measured values of the torsional moment, the corresponding twists, the torsional behavioral curves and the failure modes of the strengthened beam specimens
