The thoracolumbar region is the most common site for spinal fractures. Detailed history taking, thorough physical and neurological examination with sufficient radiographic imaging are mandatory before beginning a treatment plan. The decision of which approach to use is still controversial. The anterolateral approach facilitate anterior decompression of spine with direct visualization of the dura anteriorly and restoration of vertebral body height. The posterior approach enables correction of kyphotic deformities and stabilization of all three spinal columns
