Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Agriculture - Department of Pomology Summary: The first experiment was carried out to enhance offshoots rooting ability and leaf growth for some date palm cultivars through vegetative propagation by plant growth regulators injection and replanting under greenhouse conditions. All offshoots were treated by 16 injection treatments, before planting, by 4 ml auxin solution as follows: T1) distilled water (control treatment), T2) 2000 ppm NAA, T3) 3000 ppm NAA, T4) 4000 ppm NAA, T5) 2000 ppm IBA, T6) 3000 ppm IBA, T7) 4000 ppm IBA, T8) 2000 ppm NAA + 2000 ppm IBA, T9) 2000 ppm NAA+3000 ppm IBA, T10) 2000 ppm NAA + 4000 ppm IBA, T11) 3000 ppm NAA+2000 ppm IBA, T12) 3000 ppm NAA + 3000 ppm IBA, T13) 3000 ppm NAA+4000 ppm IBA, T14) 4000 ppm NAA + 2000 ppm IBA, T15) 4000 ppm NAA+3000 ppm IBA, T16) 4000 ppm NAA + 4000 ppm IBA. Results showed that offshoots injected by IBA at 3000 ppm or NAA 3000 ppm and planted in mid of March were the preferable for survival percentages of {u2018}Amhate{u2019} and {u2018}Sewy{u2019} cultivars and means of roots number, length and length of developed leaves. The second experiment was carried out to study the effect of NPK and Urea and their concentrations (0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 g / L /offshoot) as a soil drench to improve the vegetative growth, rooting and chemical contents of two date palm cultivars {u2018}Sewy{u2019} and {u2018}Amhate{u2019} offshoots.Survival percentages and means of roots, number, length, diameter, moisture and leaves number, length and leaf mineral contents after 6 months were higher with the application of Urea at 15 g/l or NPK at 20g/l per offshoot in the first and second seasons, respectively
