Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of E.N.T Summary: Endoscopic sphenoidotomy has become the most common surgical approach for management of inflammatory and neoplastic diseases of the sphenoid sinus, largely due to its excellent outcomes and law morbidity. Sphenoid sinusotomy can be classified into two groups: simple sphenoidotomy or type I sphenoidotmy, and extended sphenoidotomy which has two variations., unilateral extended sphenoidotomy or type II sphenoidotomy, and bilateral extended sphenoidotomy or type III sphenoidotomy. Fungal rhinosinusitis is broadly defined as the spectrum of pathologic conditions associated with sinonasal inflammation that is related to the presence of fungi
