Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc. ) - Cairo University - Faculty of Mass Communication - Department of Radio and Television Summary: Egyptian society represents an opportunity to examine the extent to which online interaction of FB group{u2019}s members fulfil the relationship between those virtual interactions, and the real world ones.Facbook has a great role in the Egyptian society especially after 25th January revolution.The researcher chose four task groups depending on their admen{u2019}s agreements. The study depends on 2social identity theory3 The researcher usesthe second and the final stage in the social identity theory,to measure at first the self-presentation of the FB members then the researcher will measure their self-esteem about a being member in group, and their opinions toward other groups in the Egyptian society. This study depends on electronic survey as a tool for collecting data. The survey answered by 410 respondents randomly. The study depends on TST 2twenty statements3and CSE 2collective self esteem3tests. The main results of the study is that there is a positive relationship between the level of FB usage and levels of user{u2019}s self esteem.There is a partial relationship in the second hypothesis, There is no relationship in the third hypothesis which is 2There is a relationship between the contribution of FB pages in increasing the level of group member{u2019}s desire to interact in the real world. And for the last hypothesis there is no relation between demographic characteristics of users (gender) and those variables:1) Density of usage2) Interactivity level. High levels of self-esteem found in the oldest ages,because they like to prove that they are present in life via FB and social network sites. FB groups (task groups) could affect its member's self-esteem and self-concept, according to their private lives.Public self-esteem or collective self-esteem could not being affected clearly through social media or 2FB groups . Adulthood stage are highly expressing of their physical description, social roles, and have a high self-esteem as have been showed before
