Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Nursing - Department of Maternal and Newborn Health Nursing Summary: Endometriosis is a condition or disease, when endometrial tissue, that normally lines the inner surface of the body of the uterus, is found elsewhere. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of dietary health education on endometriosis related pain, to investigate the research hypothesis which is women who receive dietary health education will have lesser post-mean pain score than pre-mean pain score. Subjects and methods: One group pre-posttest quasi experimental time series research design. A purposive sample of 50 women diagnosed with endometriosis was selected from gynecology inpatient departments & outpatient clinic at Obstetrics and gynecology hospital. Data were collected through 2 tools (I) Women's Structured Interview questionnaire, (II) Visual pain analogue scale .A procedure were carried out through four phases Preparatory, interviewing- assessment, implementation, and evaluation phase. Results The study finding revealed that, Pre mean pain score was 7.4 While three months post health education was 5.7 (P<0.005); pre health education mean knowledge score was 23.3 while immediately and three months after dietary health education were (48.7 & 50.7 respectively) with statistically significance (P=0.0001). This study concluded that dietary health education for women with endometriosis have shown beneficial improvement of knowledge and reducing its pain. The study recommended that adoption of healthy diet is an important and beneficial for women with endometriosis
