Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a complex metabolic disorder which might progress into fibrosis, cirrhosis, and possibly hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). SREBP-1 is a potential link between the development of HCC and NAFLD as it is identified as one of the main transcription factors involved in de novo lipogenesis
