  • Issued also as CD
Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Science - Department of Biophysics Summary: Recently, Bacteria are becoming resistant to nearly all antibiotics. Nowadays the global tendency is to find out alternative treatment solutions instead of using antibiotics against bacteria. The great interest has been noticed by increasing efforts to find out the possibility of controlling the activity and the growth characteristics of bacteria and its sensitivity to antibiotics by using extremely low frequency electromagnetic waves (ELF-EMW). Proteus mirabilis is implicated as a serious cause of urinary tract infections (UTI) in human because it causes 90% of Proteus infections and can be considered as community-acquired and nosocomial infections. P. mirabilis (ATCC 9240) organism has high resistance to nearly all penicillins, cephalosporins and Ý-lactams
