Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: Among different reasons, leakage from water pipe network is one of great reasons for water losses. In this study, a computational approach is followed to formulate a framework for detecting leakages in water distribution networks using (ANNs) technique. The main objective of this research is to formulate a simple, yet effective leakage detection system appropriate for water supply networks. Minimum number of sensors that can perfectly simulate leakage location and discharge in the studied networks are identified. The developed integrated framework is applied at Ismailia Water Pipe network. A reliable alternative for simulating leakage at water supply networks is obtained
