Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Civil Engineering Summary: This thesis presents the results of studying the performance of reactive powder concrete (RPC) containing different percentages of nano silica (NS), prepared using two different types of super plasticizers and cured in two different regimes. The compressive strength of the resulting RPC was evaluated. Scanning electron micrographs and X-ray diffraction techniques were used to determine the effect of changing NS percentage and superplasticizer type on the microstructure of the resulting RPC. Results showed that the addition of an appropriate amount of well dispersed NS can enhance compressive strength because of its filling effect and formation of more C-S-H gels
