Dissertation note: Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Anaesthesia Summary: This present study was done on patients undergoing cranial surgery for supratentorial tumor excision to compare the effects of replacing ETT with LMA versus the infusion of Magnesium sulphate 10 % 30 mg/kg within one minute all started at the end of the surgery. This present study showed that replacing ETT with LMA at the end of the surgery had a significant effect in reducing SBP during emergence without significantly prolonging the time needed for extubation. Also LMA resulted in significant decrease of coughing episodes in comparison to control group
