Dissertation note: Thesis (M.Sc.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Engineering - Department of Metallurgical Engineering Summary: In this study, a four-step procedure is proposed to calculate the critical bottom-hole flowing pressure for sanding using minimum data. The procedure was verified against other well data that were not used in developing the procedure (blind test). The proposed procedure is therefore valuable in predicting sanding tendency with reasonable accuracy. As an application of this procedure, it was determined that production rate of one well can be safely increased by 15% without sanding
